Making it easier for card dropperholic
Dropperholic, the term just came out of nowhere while thinking what title I should put for this post. To me anything that is regularly done for the sake of relieving our addictions, i call it something-holic :P. Well i joined entrecard not too long ago, and ever since then, i’m addicted to card dropping.
I like dropping by other member’s blog and read through their post or just dropping cards as fast as i can. And at current time, i find my bookmark is so long that makes it hard to scroll through and find something i’m searching for.
We all at entrecard should be familiar with “u comment,i follow”, “u drop, i follow” and the defunct power dropping lists movement. Well just joining them might be an option, but to me, i like to keep blogs that i like, whether for the content or the fast loading pages, in one place and on my computer for simplicity, easy and fast access.
And so, i’m using the EditPadLite for this. Basically, it is a general-purpose text editor just like the standard windows notepad, but it has more useful features that makes it my favorite. The picture below shows the basic display, and multiple tabs function for opening more than one notes.
The feature that makes it easier to manage my list of blogs that i visit frequently is the url function. Notice in the picture, my links that i’ve put in there are colored in blue which means i can easily double-click on a link, and it automatically opens up in a new tab in my Firefox. I’ve configured my Firefox to open new pages in a new tab, so i can just click 10 links, for example, in one go. Plus, i have the benefit of adding some description beside the links.

Interestingly, i am a frequent entre card dropper. The above tool seems quite useful to me because currently i am just using notepad to keep track of interesting pages from drops due to my lengthy list of favourites. =)

Thanks. This will be useful, and I like your idea of using Firefox to open the blogs at one time. I am new to Entrecard, and it drives me crazy that I cannot use the back feature to return to the dropbox page after I visit a site. I, too, like to visit the blogs and feel that powerdropping sort of defeats the purpose of the entrecard system.
I’m going to give this a try. From one dropperholic to another… Thanks for the tip!
