Now what? Mozilla 3 After Party

After the recent release of Mozilla 3 and achieving the World Guinness record feat. It is safe to assume that all the marketing campaign done before is very very successful. But even then, Mozilla is already the most popular browser  before that. We all know that they will set a new record, even a blind man knows that, but the question is how much? With 8 million downloads in 24 hours, and currently stands at 12 million total downloads, that is really impressive, even their server are shocked by the amount of requests received that they just went out for a “smoke break” for more than an hour.

And then yesterday came a report that there is a serious bug with the new version. president of Mozilla Europe, Tristan Nitot assured us by informing that the matter is being handled quickly and won’t pose a major threat to our security as reported in BBC news blog. For more information on the bug report, you can check it out here at ComputerWorld.

I just recently downloaded and installed it, and i’m impressed by the stability and faster browsing. The installation is easy and it keeps our settings as before. Website pages loads up quick, and i can finally open up 10-20 tabs at once without any problem, very usefull for Entrecard.com when i’m trying my own “Guinness record” for dropping cards. I haven’t tried to configure anything yet except using the old setting which runs fine. Some drawbacks that i find is when downloading files using the standard Mozilla download helper, it is still slow unlike previously when i’m using the download manager add-on. Another is some of my add-on isn’t supported by this new version such as the download manager, tinyurl, wapurl, flash video downloader, hidemyip and unplug. I do hope the developer of these add-on updates their stuff quickly.

Well if you haven’t download it yet, you can go to HERE to the download page.

And if you’ve downloaded it already, theres a certificate for participating in the record just for novelty purposes or you can frame it and show to your grandkids later on that you’re on Guinness World record :P Get it HERE
