Faulty Modem

Well this part is quite straightforward. One of the most common cause is lightning or electrical shortage.

Hardware

  • On / off the Modem (Check power light) A blinking light may mean a faulty modem, a faulty splitter or a lost connection
  • Bypass router
  • Check LAN cable (connected properly)
  • Check NIC (LED light color at the back of the computer)
  • Ping NIC 127.0.0.1
  • Ping Modem
  • Check ethernet / LAN LED light (on the modem)

Normally after you have made a report, they will check on their records whether your modem is under warranty. It is determined from the package that you subscribed. Some promotional package offer a 1,2 or 3 years warranty.
