Slow Streamyx

Now for the error message that we keep seeing (only for manual connection). I will list out the common errors only, for a complete detail of other error message , you can go modemhelp.net. This is for Windows XP error message.

Error 678

• Faulty hardware: Modem, network card, splitter
• You are trying to connect using manual connection but modem is configured to auto connect.
• You did not disconnect properly from your last connection (its still logged in), you have to call customer service to ask them to disconnect your previous connection.
• Connection problem at Internet Service Provider

Error 691

• Access was denied because the username and/or password was invalid on the domain

• Typo error of the login ID, password or both
• Streamyx account suspended due to non-payment

Error 734 or 736

• The PPP Link Control Protocol Terminated

• Try to delete old dialer, restart computer and make a new dialer

Error 769

The Specific Destination is not reachable

• Network cable is disconnected

• Check the physical connection between modem and network card
• Replace the RJ45 (network cable)
• If problem persists, the network card may be faulty

• Network card is disabled

• Enable the network card
• go to network connection, right click on LAN and select enable

• The network driver is corrupted

• right click on your My Computer icon and select properties.
• on Hardware tab, click Device Manager
• find your network card icon, and double click on it.
• on properties page, click rollback driver.
• if problem not solved, try to uninstall driver
