DSL Light Stable -Cant Connect (PPOE)
Now as the title goes, you cant connect to Streamyx but your DSL light on the modem is stable. Be sure first of all try to use manual login , just to see what is the error message.
Below are the exact copy of their old troubleshooting guide
- Software
- Check format of how customer logins (should be username@streamyx)
- Check DSLAM and line status using BMS (check port status is up/down) << on tmnet side
- Reset the port <<tmnet side
- Create Dialer
- DNS Setting (to check any DNS issues)
202.188.0.133 (Primary)
202.188.1.5 (Alternate) - Reinstall the modem (only for win2k and below and USB modem type)
- Ping customer modem and NIC (user try to ping their modem)
- Check session DB (customer logging session) << on tmnet side
- Check VCI number (View event session dial up - to check whether account is in use) << on tmnet side
- Hardware
- Check NIC (check the lights on the back )
- Check LAN cable (check all is properly connected)
- Stand alone connection
- No Parallel line
- No sharing fax
- Check modem – off / on the modem
- Bypass splitter
-to ping> go to windows menu > run > type ‘cmd’ > press ok
on the command prompt > type ‘ping 127.0.0.1′ (ping the NIC, reply is good)
on the command prompt > type ‘ipconfig/all’ (to get the default gateway ip address-modem ip address)> try to ping for reply example > ‘ping 192.168.1.1′
If all else fails, just call 100 for the customer service. Reconfirm what you have done with them as to speed up the reporting process.
