DSL Light Blinking/Off (PPOE)
I will post up the troubleshooting steps for Streamyx user for both PPOE and PPOA.
First up will be the guide for PPOE - cant connect with DSL light blinking/off. I suggest you go through my post earlier for the basic troubleshooting steps.
This guide is taken directly from the TMnet support center, Vads Bhd. Actually this guide is the old guide because they have a new template which is more interactive to them. But its still the same steps only the old approach towards understanding and solving connection issues.
Hardware you need to check
- Stand alone connection
- No parallel connection
- No sharing fax
- Check telephone line quality
- Check modem – off / on the modem
- Bypass splitter
- Check phone cable (RJ11)
Symptoms of Phone line issue are: -
No ringing
No dial tone
Line is busy even when not in use
Phone line is noisy
Getting a whistling sound
They will use their software to check these
- Check session DB (customer logging session)
- Check DSLAM and line status using BMS (check port)
- Check VCI number (View event session dial up and Port)
- Reset customer port using BMS amd need to wait 15 seconds, off/on modem. (if cant reset the port or unsuccesfull, they will do the report straight away)
After they make the report, they will forward them to the technicians and wait for them to pick up the assignment. We will have to wait 2 working days after that. For normal issue , sometimes the next day it will be solved. But this Streamyx cant be predicted, so its sometimes its useless to ask the customer service rep whats the problem regarding your connection.
