Connected but Cannot Browse Certain Websites
As the title goes, you are connected, can browse as usual except some of the website you are trying to access can be displayed. Some common issue that might relate to this problem are the website you are trying to access might be under maintenance, hardware/software failure on their side, link down or in worst case scenario, your IP range might be blacklisted. But if that is not the issue , here are some tips to do before calling the hotline.
Software
- Check the particular website (http / https)
- Check browser - lower security setting
- Off firewall settings
- Configure DNS settings
- Ping the website (if there is a reply, website is up and running)
- Try to browse from our side (customer service try to ping the website)
- Windows scan system and delete temp files
- Try connect using 3 different IP
- Reset the port
Hardware
- Standalone connection
- Bypass splitter
- Bypass router
- Check LAN cable
- Check telephone line quality
- No parallel line
- Reboot modem
- Reboot PC
The trouble shootng here isn’t that hard but it’s time consuming. Try to do those first, as you might have to call them several times if you didn’t do it.+
