Streamyx Down (syndrome maybe?)


Well today suddenly the damn Streamyx went down at my friend’s place. I dont have a choice so i have to go there myself and do the troubleshooting.

First thing i did was bypass the modem/router and connect using the the standard TMnet modem. This is done so i can see the lights on the modem and to make a manual login using the dialer. DSL and LAN light is stable, but i get error 678 when i dial up. I also did the direct connection (not using splitter), but still the same error.

Then i use the command prompt to ping the modem and network card, both works fine, no problems there. I tried setting the DNS manually, and still cant connect.

So the last thing i have to do is call 100 lar……

One female CSR answered my call, i told her the stuffs i did and my problem is DSL stable but cant connect. So she just went straight to check whether i am having a session hang (last connection is still in the server) and tried to check my port. No session hang and no reply from the port (cant reset the port), so she made a report for me.

Took me close to 10 minutes for that call (including the bla bla welcome message), which is quite fast. Standard report time is 2 working days. Now its time to wait for the technician to check my connection. Lets see how they respond this time.
