Slow Streamyx connection update for today

Just a quick update on Streamyx broadband connection for today, 26 June. I already checked with a friend at Streamyx customer service about the slow connection that i feel a bit weird today. Both national and international website been loading up slowly on my computer for few hours now. And so came the usual and unusual new as always from the ‘best’ broadband service in Malaysia.

  • The unusual, he said there is no massive outage in any area but there have been an unusually high number of calls complaining of slow connection issues for today.
  • And the usual, here is also the usual no announcement from TMnet even for them at the customer service center.

And so I check with the TMnet’s own Speedometer, and guess what, see the picture below

Well another ‘good’ job well done to our people at TMnet. Can’t really blame the Streamyx customer support for being in the dark about this. Normally if there is ‘no announcement’ updates from TMnet, means that it’s their fault. And if by chance there is an announcement from them, they will always blame someone else outside of the countries gateway.

  1. Thanks for the timely update. Yup, Streamyx a bit sluggish in my area as well.

  2. Avatar, i suggest u try to do some basic troubleshooting first just to be sure that it’s not your computer problem. then check with the TMnet speedometer site, or alternatively speedtest.net. Then u call the customer support number, ask them if there is any outages in ur area.If u did the troubleshooting first, your report will be made faster.

Truthfully, the customer service really like to avoid complains on slow connection since troubleshooting while on the phone can sometimes takes up to 45 minutes. They are scared that their performance point will drop, so less salary for them since their time limit for every call is 7 minutes maximum. So either they open up a report without completing the troubleshooting steps or give u an excuse so u can call back later.
