Do You Believe in IM Guru’s?

I caught this post on my rounds of reading today, very interesting and funny. I’m sure at one time, most of us would probably be impressed and believe that the techniques made by the so-called Guru’s to be truly amazing on how they made their money. Just see their sales pitch, very long and tiring to read. I think it is a psychological attack to make us read little on the product and scroll down to click on the payment button. I especially like the part where they show the ‘proof’ that they made insane amount of profits just like that. Sometimes, without even lifting a finger (i exaggerated on that :P )

Very nice check but the numbers and the amount typed is different.

I admit, i’m a pessimist and have developed an ads resistant nature. That’s why i’m amused by the forum post. On some part, i do believe that they actually made some money through the sale of their product, but i just refused to believe the amount they said. In internet marketing world, i believe they are using the ‘fake it till u make it’ technique.

They will fake everything until at one point they will become ’somebody’ and with a real proof. if you can ’sweet talk’ anyone and make a good sales pitch, i think it’s not hard for you to be like them. I know this from my experience in marketing industry, there are countless bullshitting marketing executives and bosses and only knows how to talk to people but can’t do any real work (to my former boss, if you are reading this, it is meant for you :P )

But Internet Marketing is a vicious cycle actually. they make the product, other people (like us) become their affiliate. We promote and convince the masses, even though we ourself doesn’t believe on the product itself. We and the author make money, and both are happy.

For me, i do have some guilty conscious feeling on the fact that i promote and sell products that is useless and can’t deliver things marketed. That’s why on this blog i try only to promote and give reviews on products that i have tested myself. At least even if i cant be an expert on it, i can still give my honest opinion. Visit forums often like DigitalPoint, WarriorForums and for Malaysian, Wangcyber to get some general ideas and advice. But whenever some one in those forums tried to sell anything, buy at your own risk. Personally, i can get those at other forum i joined, free as the community there likes to share and give good and honest advices.

Make money online? yes, it is do-able.
Get a comfortable living from make money online? yes, but only if you work hard and smart.
Get insanely rich from make money online easily? no, logically speaking that is but not impossible (success rate 0.0001 %)

  1. Yeah Imran I can’t agree more with you. I have also acquired “sales pitch and ads blindness” syndrome.

When I first started I fell into lots of sweet sales talks and ended up buying stuffs that I regretted later. Now, I am happy that I could withstand a lot of temptations to buy except very few high value and low priced ones.

I too don’t simply promote products I never tried or don’t believe in.

Newbies need not worry as you may get sucked into the marketing vortex along the way but if you make good use of your judgement, you’ll be safe eventually.

  2. yup, sometimes we have to learn thru mistakes. the best is to get into forums and ask others for an honest review of a certain product.

  3. You might enjoy exploring this terrific site related to gurus.
    Always fun to visit http://www.gurudaq.com
I too recommend products that I have personal experience with, or recommended by friends who I trust for good quality material.
    Cheers, Thea
